II. CARBON MANAGEMENT IN THE NEW ERA

As Vietnam moves toward its Net Zero target by 2050, carbon management has become a critical challenge for businesses in the construction industry. Companies are facing increasing pressure to comply with stricter legal frameworks issued by the Government. Under Decision 13/2024, Decree 119/2025, and Decision 699/2026, greenhouse gas inventories, internal MRV systems, and emission quota management have become mandatory requirements in order to avoid financial penalties.

This reality raises three key questions for construction and real estate businesses:

➤ How can companies effectively access and apply green building standards?

➤ How can emission quantification methods be implemented efficiently in practice?

➤ How will the carbon credit market impact future development strategies?

However, major challenges also bring significant opportunities. By conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and achieving green certifications such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, EDGE, and LOTUS, businesses can not only gain easier access to preferential green financing, but also commercialize carbon credits on domestic trading platforms (Decree 29/2026) or international markets through ITMOs, creating a strong competitive advantage.

To address these multidimensional challenges, a thematic seminar gathering leading domestic and international experts will officially be held.
